Hunting for Easter Eggs

Posted on April 18th, 2014 by Marissa Miller

I had the pleasure of swinging by our Franklin store this morning to witness what is probably our cutest annual tradition, the Sendik’s Easter Egg Hunt!  Over 200 children, ages 10 and under, began lining up at the Franklin store 30 minutes before the hunt was scheduled to begin.  Many of them donned Easter outfits and were carrying holiday baskets, and they could hardly contain their excitement.  Over 600 eggs were sprinkled throughout our produce department for the children to find.

The event began at 9am, and it was a mad dash to find the eggs.  For a couple of minutes, our produce department was the most precious amount of chaos you can imagine.  Each kid was allowed to find two eggs.  For some of the older kids, this didn’t take long, but for the younger children, it was an adventure– and they certainly were proud when they found their treasures!  By 9:05 am, many of the kids were already in line to get their prizes.  They headed to the checkout line where Sendik’s associates handed out prizes.  Everyone got a bag of goodies while the grand prize winners could choose from puzzles, games and more.

The Easter Egg hunt takes place every year on the Friday before Easter at the majority of our stores.  This year’s event took place at Mequon, Grafton, Elm Grove, Franklin, Greenfield, Germantown, New Berlin and West Bend, while we had our annual coloring contest at our Whitefish Bay and Wauwatosa locations.
