Here are three kid tested, mom approved recipes to help you make the most of this week’s Sendik’s sale ad — two for dinner, one for the lunchbox (or yourself, I’ll never tell).
Pan Seared Scallops with Orzo, Tomatoes, and Basil is an elegant dish that is also surprisingly easy to make. The list of ingredients is short, the sauce is simple and it comes together in a skinny minute. I would absolutely recommend serving this one if you’ve got company coming this weekend; we love it. Look for sale Sendik’s Orzo Pasta, Hot House Roma Tomatoes and Fresh Natural Dry Pack Sea Scallops.
Buitoni Pastas are on sale and when they are, I love to make this Ravioli in Creamy Tomato Sauce. This is another super quick dinner, and three of the key ingredients are on sale, including the ravioli as mentioned, as well as Sargento Ricotta Cheese, and Rao’s Pasta Sauce. Love this one. Try it!
Finally, track season has begun and one’a my punks is a distance runner. She’s hungry pretty most all the time yet weighs approximately 72 pounds when soaking wet. I’ve gotta keep the calories coming with this child, which only further exacerbates my cakestand obsession. Thanks to the Seven Days, Seven Ways to Save sale, I have lots of bananas hanging around — more than the DamFam can possibly eat. So when good bananas are about to go bad, it’s time to make cake. Banana Snack Cake is perfect for the lunchbox or an after school snack, and it also freezes beautifully. Look for sale bananas (on Wednesdays) and Dannon Vanilla Yogurt.
Have a great week!Blogs, Fresh, Frugal, Fabulous | March 14th, 2013
