Hi again and welcome to this week’s edition of Enjoy Sendik’s All Week, where, as per usual, I will recommend three of my very most favoritest (not really a word) recipes to help you make the most of some delicious sale ingredients. As always, all three dishes have been punk tested and mom approved. This week’s ad has lots of stuff I like to cook with, so sharpen your pencils and make your grocery list along with me.
One of summer’s greatest hits around here has always been this delicious Grilled Dixie Chicken. The rub is outstanding and there’s a delicious toasted bread that’s served alongside the chicken. This recipe makes great use of the Sendik’s Natural Chicken Thighs and Drumstick Value Packs that are on sale, as well as loaves of the Sendik’s Mini Italian Bread. If you’re running low on butter (and butter is a must!), Shurfresh Butter Quarters are also on sale.
A second summer favorite of mine is the amazing (!!) Barefoot Contessa Grilled Herb Shrimp. These are a showstopper; I’ve never served them to anyone who hasn’t absolutely experienced a full blown swoon right on my patio. Swoon-worthy shrimp, that’s what these are. I usually use 16/20 counts here, but there are some gorgeous Sendik’s Jumbo Prawns on sale this week that would also be a perfect and impressive swap, especially if you’re entertaining guests this weekend. Just adjust your grilling time up a bit since these are some big daddy shrimp. You’ll need a yellow onion here; Bako Sweet Onions are on sale.
Lastly, if the weather doesn’t cooperate enough to send someone out to tend to the grill, you can always fall back on these fantastic Shredded Pork Carnitas. I absolutely love these (then again, by now you know I’ve never met a taco I don’t adore). Look for Sendik’s Natural Boneless Country Style Ribs, LaPreferida Flour Tortillas, as well as LaPreferida Refried Beans and boxed Spanish Rice that would be great alongside.

"Xochitl", means flower in Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs.
Taste and enjoy the tradition of the Aztecs.
Xochitl brings to you the finest products with the most unique home-made flavors that can be found in the exotic places of the old continents.
The Aztecs used to grind kernels of corn with big rocks in a form of a wheel and added water and lime to create a dough called Nixtamal, this dough was used to make tortillas. Today, hundreds of years later, Xochitl uses the same unique process to make the authentic corn totopos (chips) that you are about to taste.
Xochitl totopos are oven-baked and quick fried to perfection creating deliciously thin and crispy chips.
We care for our customers and their families, that is the reason we use the highest quality ingredients and non-hydrogenated oils.
