Enjoy Sendik's All Week

Hi there and welcome to this week’s edition of Enjoy Sendik’s All Week.   As always, I’ve got three kid tested, mom approved recipes to help you decide what to make for dinner using ingredients from this week’s Sendik’s sale ad.  Sharpen your pencils, ’cause if you don’t mind my saying so, this week’s suggestions are especially delicious. : )

I woke up as the mother of three teenagers on Monday morning.  How that happened so quickly, I’ll never know, but please Lord, give me strength.  Give me protein.  Give me a steak.  Preferably this one, with blue cheese walnut butter.  This recipe calls for sirloins steaks, but you could easily swap in the Sendik’s Natural Choice Black Angus New York Strips that are on sale.  The blue cheese butter alone would make ceiling tile taste delicious and the steak will give you protein power, which will in turn give you strength to do whatever heavy lifting you have to do in your daily life.  Like raising up teenagers and transforming them into human beings.  I’m kidding.  Sorta.

If you’re entertaining the idea of entertaining this weekend, use the sale Sendik’s Fresh Farm Raised Tilapia Fillets to make these yummy Baja Tacos with Southwestern Slaw.  Love these!  There’s a wide assortment of La Preferida ingredients on sale – their Refried Beans and a box of their Spanish Rice would make excellent accompaniments to the tacos.  In addition to the sale tilapia, also look for sale limes, green cabbage, and La Preferida Flour Tortillas.

Lastly, I know I mentioned this one a couple of weeks back, but I really can’t imagine a more fun or easy summer dinner idea than these Grilled Seafood Packets – my favorite seasonal go-to.  I’ll use the sale Sendik’s Tilapia Fillets, the local raised sweet corn, and Sendik’s Jumbo Fresh Water Prawns.  Serve this meal on your patio with an easy rice pilaf and wedges of watermelon.
