Sendik’s announces Meadowbrook location in City of Waukesha
Milwaukee, Wis. – Locally owned Sendik’s Food Markets today announced it will open a store in the City of Waukesha. The family owned grocer will lease the property at 701 Meadowbrook Dr., which is currently a Sentry Foods, and will convert it to a full-line Sendik’s Food Market. The location is part of the Meadowbrook Shopping Center located at the northeast corner of Meadowbrook Rd. and Summit Ave.
Sendik’s will lease the property later this year and will close the store for a full renovation. When that renovation is complete, the approximately 49,000-square-foot-store will have a full complement of grocery offerings, including Sendik’s famous hand-stacked produce, a Fresh2GO deli, full-service meat and bakery counters, a Sendik’s Home department and more. The store will employ 150 full- and part-time associates.
“This is our 90th year in business, and we are very flattered that the demand for our brand continues to grow,” said family co-owner Ted Balistreri. “We know we’ve found a great location to better serve the residents of Waukesha, many of whom were already traveling to our New Berlin and Elm Grove stores. With the completion of the Western Waukesha Bypass, this will become a destination store with easy access for our new neighbors.”
This is the 5th announced new location for the fast-growing, 13-store chain operated by the Balistreri family. Additional new full-line stores include The Corners in the Town of Brookfield and West Milwaukee, as well as Sendik’s Fresh2GO upscale convenience stores in Greendale and Hales Corners. All five stores are expected to open within the next 12 to 15 months.
