One thing I learned pretty quickly about when I started at Sendik’s is our community involvement. It became pretty clear to me that we’re committed to strengthening and developing the communities in which we work and live, and that’s something that I’m excited to be a part of.
This past Friday, I was lucky enough to attend the Grafton Souper Bowl, a really neat community event. The fundraiser, which was heavily attended, benefits Grafton schools. The event began with a soup sampling– more than a dozen different community businesses (including Sendik’s!) donated different kinds of soup, and the attendees received tokens to vote on their favorites. And attendees don’t sample the soup in just normal bowls– all of the bowls are handmade by Grafton students! (Check out the picture above on the left- how cute are they!?) A bowling tournament took place throughout the evening, and a raffle and voice auction rounded out the event.
Sendik’s donated our First Place Chili and Homemade Rotisserie Chicken Noodle Soup to the event, along with a raffle prize. Thank you, Grafton Education Foundation, for letting Sendik’s be a part of your amazing event — we’re looking forward to next year!Featured, News, Red Bag Insider | January 28th, 2014
