Blueberries, Revisited.

My one year anniversary of writing this blog has come and gone without pomp and circumstance.  Fine and dandy of course, I for one don’t need sunshine blown up my short shorts tennis skirt…or recognition, or accolades.  It’s been a fun year of learning the a little about the grocery business and writing about favorite recipes.  I’ve certainly enjoyed making, shooting, and eating everything that’s ended up here in the blog! 

For those of you who haven’t been readers from the get-go (ie; anyone who’s not my mother), last year at this time I was on a MAJOR blueberry kick.  And given that blueberries are on sale this week, I thought it would be fun to re-visit three of my favorite recipes from last summer.

First, we have this fantastic blueberry sauce! Oh my thunder, I wish I had some right now.  I might have to whip some up later on this afternoon; in a pretty little jar it would be the perfect hostess gift for a friend this evening.  Try it; you’ll be spooning it over anything that’s sitting still — but if you’re lacking inspiration, Sendik’s Brand pound cake is on sale in the bakery.

Hosting weekend company?  You’ll want to have this fantastic coffeecake on hand for breakfast or brunch.  It’s a winner…the crunchy topping alone will make you swoon!

And finally, I would be remiss if I didn’t remind you of  my favorite fruit crumble.  I can’t say enough.  The topping is like a buttery shortbread cookie – out of this world!  Top warm bowls of this crumble with a big scoop of vanilla Blue Bunny ice cream, on sale of course.
