Enjoy Sendik's All Week

I’m excited about this week’s ad.  There are some great ingredients on sale, and that’s good news because I feel like cooking.  Here’s what’s on the DamFam docket this week, if you want to come along for the ride.  As usual, all three recipes are kid tested and mom approved.  : )

I mentioned in yesterday’s post that I’m pretty much bananas for pumpkin anything, and this fantastic bread is a FamDam favorite.  My kids love it for breakfast with apples and peanut butter alongside.  I love this recipe because it makes two loaves; give one away to someone you like a lot or wrap one tightly and stash it in the freezer.  We go through this bread like crazy!  Look for sale Libby’s Pumpkin and feel free to add a cup or so of Nestle Chocolate Chips (also on sale).

When Pillsbury Pie Crusts go on sale (as they are this week), I always make my favorite Chicken Pie.  If you’ve made it before, then you already know it’s the total bombdiggity.  Sendik’s Boneless Chicken Breast Value Packs will be on sale this SATURDAY during 7 Days, 7 Ways to Save; Village Grown Frozen Organic Vegetables are also on sale.  As my youngest always says, “HOW can anyone NOT LIKE chicken pie?!?!?”

Finally, Sunday night is Trick-or-Treat where I live and it’s going to be COLD for those candy crazed kiddos.  Coincidentally, Sunday night will also feature a border battle between the Packers and the Vikings beginning at 7:00.  A longstanding Trick-or-Treat night tradition at our house is that we make homemade pizzas, but I’m making the executive decision to forego pizza this year in lieu of this fantastic Chicken Chili.  Everyone here loves it and it’ll be perfect for cold Halloweeners (not actually a word) and Packer fans alike.  Plus, it’ll make the house smell amazing.  Look for sale Sendik’s Boneless Chicken Breast Value Packs (Saturday, as mentioned above), Dei Fratelli Tomatoes,  Mayan Sweet Onions, Daisy Sour Cream, and Xochitl Chips (although I prefer Fritos).
