…. aside of course from the turkey with mayo on white served up as a snack on Thanksgiving night. Half the time I think I enjoy the cold turkey sandwich with a big pile of chips more than I enjoy it the first time with a big pile of mashed potatoes. Anyway, I’m hoping for lots of leftovers, because I’m looking forward to making one or two of these three awesome recipes sometime over the weekend. They’re all for chicken, but of course you can swap in equal quantities of turkey with no problem. Have a great holiday and safe travels. : )
The last time I heard, this Tortilla Soup was the recipe with the highest number of hits on the FFF blog. There’s a reason for that of course — it’s really flippin’ good. And easy, and inexpensive to make. If you haven’t tried it yet, give it a go! You won’t be sorry.
Remember when my friend Fernanda taught me to make Chicken Chilaquiles back in May? I think I’ve make them five times since then. My family FLIPS OUT over them, I never seem to make enough, and there’s always a battle for leftovers the next day. I might have to make them tonight in fact, because you know that once I get an idea in my head, I can’t let it go. Try them, they’re the perfect use for a big pile of leftover turkey.
One final thought: another great and EASY soup: Creamy Chicken (Turkey) and Wild Rice. I received a testimonial on this soup from a good friend last week who said it was a hit with her entire family, including one child who seriously might rival NTYB for the title of Pickiest Eater Ever. Yep, it’s good. Really good. And it’ll make your house smell fabulous.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. See you next week. : )Featured, Fresh, Frugal, Fabulous | November 20th, 2012
