Alois Lageder Pinot Grigio, Dolomiti, 2008

Dry white wine. The Lageder Family has been making fine wines for more than 150 years in Alto Adige, Italy's most northern wine producing region, nestled in the Dolomite Foothills, in the heart of the Alps. Alois Lageder's activities in the vineyards and in the cellar are based on the principle of sustainability and go also hand in hand with a major commitment to art. His project for wine labels has involved Italian artists of international renown, and draws attention to the fundamentals of the cultivation of grapes and their transformation into wine, as expressed through five themes: light, earth, grape-vine, human being and wine. Elizabeth Holzl's photography shows the passage of light through a perforated surface, and thus refers to respiration, to the porosity of the soil and the leaves of the vine, to the exchanges always taking place between the earth and the surrounding atmosphere. Alc. 12% by vol. Product of Italy.
