St Innocent Pinot Noir, Villages Cuvee, Willamette Valley, Oregon 2009 750 Ml

Our Villages Cuvee is produced from Pinot noir grapes grown in Oregon's northern Willamette Valley. At its core are grapes grown at Vitae Springs Vineyard, located in the hills south of Salem, Oregon. Fruit from young vines at other sites are blended with this to produce a wine that reflects both the vintage and the varietal. Vitae Springs Vineyard 54%. Momtazi Vineyard 24%. Zenith Vineyard 22%. After two days of cold maceration the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine aged for 12 months in 15% new French oak barrels and was bottled by gravity without fining or filtration. Production: 2,640 cases. Bottled: October 2010. The Villages Cuvee Pinot noir matches well with a wide variety of medium weight foods: white meat dishes and pasta with full-flavored preparations as well as red meats like lamb, filet mignon, duck, and sausages. It can be enjoyed in its youth or aged up to 6 years. - Mark Vlossak, winemaker. Produced and bottled by St. Innocent Winery, Salem, Oregon. Alcohol 13.5% by volume.
