Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer – Don Contardi Commitment Award
In appreciation of its support and commitment to helping children with cancer and blood disorders, the MACC Fund presented the Don Contardi Commitment award to Sendik’s. In it’s first six years supporting the MACC Fund, Sendik’s customers have raised more than $600,000 for this local charity.
Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin – Hunger’s Hope Award
For the second time in four years, Sendik’s was recognized with Hunger’s Hope Award in appreciation of outstanding contributions and generous support of hunger relief. In 2013, total donations from Sendik’s customers topped the 1,000,000-meal mark.
BizTimes Milwaukee – Regional Spirit Award
Sendik’s was awarded the Regional Spirit Award by BizTimes Milwaukee for the impact the company is having on the greater Milwaukee area. This distinction was part of the publication’s IQ and Bravo! Entrepreneur awards that recognized business innovators.
Milwaukee Public Schools – Excellence in Education Award
The Milwaukee Board of School Directors monthly recognizes an outstanding school, student, staff member, parent, or community member for a display of excellence, achievement, and innovation. Sendik’s received this award for its multi-year support of the Backpack Buddies program, which aims to break the cycle of poverty by providing at-risk children with a backpack filled with school supplies.
Wisconsin Grocer’s Association – Community Service Award
This award honors grocers at all levels of the business who play an outstanding role in the betterment of their community. In 2012 alone, Sendik’s and its customers donated more than $300,000 to four quarterly charity partners, in addition to supporting more than 150 local organizations with financial and in-kind donations.
Association of Fundraising Professionals – Wisconsin Organizational Philanthropy Award
The AFP Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter annually recognizes a corporation, foundation or organization for an outstanding record of philanthropic leadership in Southeastern Wisconsin. Sendik’s accepted this award for demonstrating a leadership role in promoting philanthropy in the region.
